The Call Home

Let us immerse ourselves in the Land of Eiru

Amantha Murpy Call Home Tour

Join us for this Sacred Journey to the presence of the Goddess, within the land and within you. Let us delve deep and flow ever outwards as we embrace the Divine Feminine.

We are being called to midwife the new living Earth as She passes on to another stage of Being. Through this we bring ourselves healing and embrace our passion, power and grace.

Let us journey together as Sisters, as Family and as Priestesses.

The land of Ireland is feminine, often referred to as ‘Mother Ireland.’ We acknowledge this as we journey upon Her body, moving to the Great Mother of all the Ancient peoples of this land for blessings to carry forth with us and connecting, at last, to the magic that lies with us.

The Mother is calling us home, calling us to a space within where we can rest awhile, knowing we are being held and fed, loved and cared for. The Mother fills us as we drink from the chalice, so that we may carry forward Her love/our love into all aspects of our lives. As part of our journey upon the Way, we will gather the threads and weave ourselves whole, as powerful and light-filled Souls. We will sing and chant, we will dance and move – and there will be times when we will hold the silence and bear witness.

We come together to hear the pulse of Her nature and the beat of Her heart through the inner and outer landscapes of Herself/ourselves.

In this Pilgrimage we also take space for inner work to prepare us to walk the body of the Mother and connect with honour and openness to the Great Goddess in Her many phases and places. We will take space each day to allow those aspects of our nature to emerge, flow and integrate, allowing ourselves the opportunity to be fully who we are in joy and in life.

Day 1:  Pickup at 9:30am from Shannon Airport, Ireland.

Grange Stone Circle, Lough Gur, Bruff and Brigit’s well Blessing, Limerick

We travel down to co. Kerry, the home of Ana/Anu, the great Mother Goddess and will be stopping at the Grange Stone Circle for our opening ceremony and Lough Gur. We then move on to Killarney, stopping en-route for a blessing of the waters at Brigit’s well. The Grange Stone Circle is dedicated to Aine, Sun Goddess and Fairy Queen. It is here, at the summer solstice, that the first rays of the sun move through the two dolmen stones into the centre of the largest stone circle in Ireland. The goddess Aine is beloved of her people and guards the Land. This Circle is one of Ireland’s most beautiful, comprising of 123 standing stones, with a high earth bank surrounding it, helping to maintain its otherworldly space inside. Behind this stone circle we have Lough Gur, which Aine is believed to have formed. We have stories here of a sacred tree within the lake, which magically arises every seven years and holds the fabric of Ireland together upon her branches. The area around Lough Gur has been inhabited for at least 5,000 years and the first Neolithic houses to be found in Ireland were excavated here. Lunch will be at The Old Bakehouse at Bruff.

From here we travel on to your resting place and home for the next 7 days in Killarney

Day 2:  The City, Gobnuit and Sheela-na-gig

9:30am Attunement

We will visit the City, place of one of the four great cities of the Tuatha dé Danann, the Gods and Goddesses of our land. The Tuatha dé Danann were known for their magic and worshipped the Mother Goddess Anu. It was here that they placed two cairns atop the mountains behind the City and saw them as the breasts of Anu. It was here they worshipped her. Much later, when the first Celts came and conquered, the four great cities of the Tuatha dé Danann arose from the land and moved into another plane of existence: many say they moved to below the land Herself. From here we move on to Ballyvourney to visit Gobnait’s well, one of the oldest wells of pilgrimage in Ireland and a Sheela-na-gig. Gobnait is another face of Brigit and dedicated to Bees. The Sheela-na-gig is a stone carving of a pre-Christian female idol signifying freedom and creativity. Most were broken up during the reformation and some small ones still exist around Ireland, mainly on the ruins of old churches. The Sheela-na-gig has become a symbol for many Irish women as the right to choose and is becoming re-named as the Sacred whore.

Day 3A day of inner work.

Having connected to the Maiden- Aine, the Mother- Anu and the wild Women- Sheela-na-gig, we now take some space for our inner journey and recognize these presences within ourselves. We will work on getting to know your Ancestral Teachers; working with the Celtic Wheel and the Goddesses upon the Wheel. Finding which pre-Celtic deity is working with you at the time. Connecting to your totem of the land.

Day 4 Cailleach Beara, Kilcatherine & Ogham Stone, West Cork

9:00am Attunement

Today we carry our work out onto the land and visit the Cailleach Beara, the place of the Crone Goddess, part of our triple Goddesses. The story is that the wise hag Goddess turned to stone while waiting for her consort, the God of the Sea, Manannan Mac Lir.  We will move on from here to the ruins of Kilcatherine, where there was once the Priestess cult of Caitlin, known to be connected with the usage of cats to journey to the other realms.

We then move on to the Ballycrovane Ogham Stone, which stands at 17 feet and is said to be the largest Ogham stone in Ireland and is probably much older than its Ogham inscription. Ogham writing was the first known writing in Ireland and was, for many centuries, known as the Druid’s sacred and secret language.

We stop awhile in Kenmare, known in Irish as Nadine meaning ‘little nest’ and the picturesque town is indeed nestled within the mountains. We finish the full day at a faery glen on our way back to Killarney.

Day 5:  Inisfallen Island

9:00am Attunement

This morning we will visit the Sacred Isle of Inisfallen held within the lower lake of Killarney, for a ceremony and releasing. This Island was once a place of sacredness for Priestesses of the Goddess. It later became a centre of learning and Healing. The afternoon is a time for rest and relaxation. You might like to shop and I can also arrange for Shamanic bodywork and/massages if you would like. Please let me know beforehand.

Day 6Rathcroghan in Roscommon and Sligo

Travelling up-land to the place of the Goddess Queen Maebh/Maeve. We begin our journey here in the interpretive centre, where myth and story blend and mingle. On then to the Raths in Rathcroghan where the concerts, the Kings of Maebh are buried. It was here that Maebh, one of our Great Earth Goddesses lived and our greatest epic tale, ‘the Tain’ began. We will Visit Ogulla, the sacred well of Ethna and Fidelma, the two druid princesses who died here. This area is over layered in ritual and magic. Travelling on to Sligo to settle into our guest house for the next two nights.

9:00am Attunement

Meath only this one is focused on the summer solstice and another connects to Samhain. Holding ceremony as we move within.

Day 8:  Triple Goddess Stone Circles, the Glen for closing Ceremony and Seaweed baths in the evening (B)

 9:30am Attunement

Visiting the three Stone Circles, each dedicated to the Maiden, Mother and the Crone. Paying homage to these aspects within ourselves.
